Terms of Service

AI Image Detection is a web tool that estimates whether an image was made by an AI generator. It reads the file's Content Credentials and metadata in your browser. When those don't settle the question, it sends the image to a third-party detection model (Sightengine, with Hive as a backup) and explains the answer.

Some checks are free. More checks are sold as one-time credit packs, listed on the pricing page. We may change, pause or stop any feature, including the free checks.

Every detector makes mistakes, including ours. A result is an estimate based on the signals we could read. It is not a fact about the image, and it says nothing about the person who shared it. We don't promise that any result is correct or complete.

Don't use a result as the only basis for a decision that affects someone's rights or living. That includes hiring or firing, legal or police matters, insurance or refund disputes, penalties at school or in a contest, and accusing a person of faking something. Look for other evidence first, such as the original file, a second photo or the person's own account.

Only check images you have the right to use. You must not:

• upload anything that is illegal to possess or share;
• upload sexual content involving minors, real or generated. We delete it, block the uploader and may report it to the authorities;
• upload private images of other people without their permission, such as intimate photos or pictures of their documents or home;
• use the site or its results to harass, threaten, shame or stalk anyone;
• send automated traffic, scrape the site, call its endpoints from your own scripts or overload it;
• get around the free limit, for example by switching devices, browsers or networks to get more free checks;
• sell or give away credit codes;
• try to break into, probe or copy the service.

If you break these rules we may block your access and cancel your credits. Credits cancelled for abuse are not refunded.

• Credit packs are one-time purchases. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
• The price is the one on the pricing page when you buy. We may change prices for future purchases.
• Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Waffo Pancake (waffo.ai), which also handles taxes and refunds. It sells you the pack, takes the payment and issues your receipt, and its own terms apply to the payment. If we ever change merchant of record, we'll update this page.
• Credits belong to a credit code, not an account. Keep the code safe: anyone who has it can use the credits. If you lose it, email us your order number and we'll try to find it.
• Credits last 12 months from purchase. They work only on this site, can't be transferred and can't be exchanged for cash.
• Refunds follow our refund policy.

You keep all rights to the images you check. You confirm you have the right to upload each one.

To run a check, you let us copy and process the image, send it to our detection providers and store the result. For free checks and Standard credits, you also let us keep a copy of the image and use it to measure and improve the service and to prevent abuse. This permission is non-exclusive and free of charge, and it ends when the image is deleted. We don't sell your images, share them with others or use them to train image generators. With Private credits we don't store the image at all.

The site itself, its text, design and code, belongs to us. You may link to pages and share results; please don't copy the site.

The site is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises, express or implied, that it will be accurate, always available, free of errors or fit for a particular purpose. Detection depends on third-party services that can fail or change without notice.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any decision you or anyone else makes based on a result. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the site is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before your claim, or USD 10 if you haven't paid anything.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer where you live.

We may update these terms of service. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change matters, for example to prices or to how images are kept, we'll point it out on this page. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply. A change never takes away credits you already bought.
